Superman didn’t actually die, he went into a “Hulk Adidas shirt” Doomsday on the other hand was totes dead. Yeah it’s happened several times. There is another comic where I remember something similar. I think it was in the first Infinity Gauntlet. But I don’t have it anymore. They’re talking about strength not strategy or ability to breath in space or any of that. That if they got into a brawl hulk would win, but superman isn’t the kind to just fight without cause. And that instead of fighting he’d try to shut down the hulk to get to Bruce.
